Entirely original patina chest of drawers made of solid walnut with maple inlays. The top is inlaid with threading and small flowers. There is a secret drawer on the front which is inlaid with leaf motifs, whereas the other three drawers are inlaid and threaded and surrounded by frames typical of the Tuscan style. The sides are are carved geometrically, whilst the apron at the front base is also framed and is supported by block feet. This is an extremely elegant piece of furniture which, whilst maintaining the structural rigidity of such 17th century pieces, is a forerunner to the richly decorated and more refined 17th century models.
