Description
The picturesque medieval town of Suvereto is a jewel rich in art and history located in the Val di Cornia and surrounded by the sweet hills that overlook the sea and the “Costa degli Etruschi”. Inside the high walls you may discover small lanes, historical buildings, charming little churches and cloisters. The area is perfect for wine lovers and bike freaks: the wine road offers many chances of tasting local wine, olive oil and typical products and there are also numerous mountain bike tracks. Thanks to the mild climate many festivals inspired by local history and traditions take place all year round. The natural park of Montioni is also worth a visit. The seaside resort Follonica and the Etruscan village Populonia with the Gulf of Baratti (there is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area) are within easy reach. Shops and restaurant are within walking distance.
