It is only necessary to get to the Piano Provenzana (1860-2400 m) to feel the thrill of sliding on the Etna's ski slopes, whereas in the background the silhouette of Taormina stands out and further on the one of the Calabria. The dwelling is halfway up the hillside on what is known as Etna's wine road (Strada del Vino Etna doc) that leads to Zafferana and offers one of the most striking, panoramic views of this region. The unique landscape of the volcano - with its typical, low stone walls made of lava rocks, hairpin bends and vineyards - is the lovely, natural setting of this country house that perfectly matches the cultural, environmental itinerary to which it belongs. Everything in this house recalls the authentic Sicilian tradition: from its strategic location to its simple architecture. The atmosphere is one of a past country life. Its cosy rooms have been
furnished with great taste and functionality, yet in harmony with the typical style of older houses. Outside one can relax in peace on the wide terrace with cold plunge pool, the ideal place for refreshment in the heat of the Sicilian summer.
