Colle S. Giusto is a lovely country-house located in the countryside 7km south of Lucca in direction of Pisa within the tiny village of San Giusto di Compito. This is a particularly beautiful area cut into smooth hills and renowned for its natural springs and local olive oil.
Colle San Giusto is the ideal place for those who like nature and outdoor living. The surroundings of the house and their beautiful landscape offer endless possibilities for hiking, walking and riding. Close to the house (right at the beginning of Via del Pergolone) you will find the beginning of hiking path N. 7 of the CAI (local mountain sports club). This path will lead you on a 7 Km walk to Santallago, a lovely place on the mountains Pisani with large meadows for picnics. In the surroundings there are also mountain bike paths. You should not miss also a visit to the popular Tuscan towns like the nearby Lucca, Pisa and Florence and to the beautiful coast of Versilia which may be reached with only 30 min of highway.Grocery store 1km, supermarket, pharmacy, bank, tennis courts 2km,restaurant 1 km, Pisa 30 km, Florence 76 km, sea 30 km.
Composition
The house is semidetached (being attached on one side to another house which is not inhabited). It was entirely restored by the owners with great care and converted into a lovely holiday home which comprises: entrance through 6 steps and a small paved area adjacent to the house, spacious living room with a beautiful stone fireplace, 2 sofas, table, chairs satellite TV. On the left of the living room there is large equipped kitchen and exit door onto the garden and the pool area. The kitchen joins a small bathroom with wc, bidet, shower, basin.
A beautiful stone and wrought iron staircase leads from the living room to the 1st floor: 1 spacious double bedroom with double bed, 2 bedside tables, chest of drawers with mirror, 1 large wardrobe and 2 chairs; 1 spacious and comfortable bathroom with bathtub, shower, wc and bidet; 1 twin bedroom with two wrought iron single beds (which may be joined to make a double bed) and wardrobe. In both bedrooms there are 2 windows south facing which receive much sunlight.
Stone and wrought iron staircase to the 3rd. floor which has been upgraded into a beautiful attic room with sloping ceilings and walls with exposed stone. In the attic room: 1 (walkthrough) twin bedroom (upon request a further bed may be added) and 1 spacious double bedroom with bedside tables, wardrobe, chest of drawers and en-suite bathroom. In the attic room there is a small utility room which remains closed.
For the security of small children the stairs which lead to the attic room are secured by a door on one side and by a small gate on the other side..
The house has been carefully and tastefully furnished by the owners who lived here for a while. The warm atmosphere in each room has been created by retaining original features like exposed beams, terracotta tiled floors and wrought iron elements.
The back of the house is surrounded by 1000 sq metre of garden covered by olive trees, in the midst of which is a beautiful swimming pool (7.90 m x 4.50 – depth 1.30 m) partly set in the earth within the natural terraces of the ground.
