The tonnara is one of the most ancient of the island, not used anymore, is the proof of a former flourishing activity. It evokes the charme of an abandoned place and the silence that surrounds it, is interrupted only by the sound of the waves. The nature reserve of Zingaro first in Sicily, has a coast 7 kilometres long that is beautiful and uncontaminated and overlooks the gulf of Castellammare and the mountains, enriched by the small bays and the evocative vertical cliffs.
Composition
This elegant property is located in the countryside of Castellammare del Golfo. The house is built on two levels and surrounded by vast cultivated land with olive and fruit trees. The surrounding vegetation is luxuriant and verdant and guests can also pick and eat the homegrown organic fruit and vegetables. The house was built in harmony with the landscape and the rustic tradition where the use of wood, ceramic tiles and terracotta make the rooms cosy and warm. Entrance into the house leads to a spacious living room which features a fireplace and sofas and is open plan with a fully equipped kitchen including a wood-fired oven. On the ground floor there is also a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The first floor sleeping area is made up of three bedrooms: two double bedrooms and one with French bed . The master en-suite bedroom with double bed has a wonderful view over the surrounding countryside. From this room it is possible to reach a wooden loft where you can find two single beds. The other bedrooms overlook the swimming pool area. The furniture is elegant and some are antique pieces owned by the family. On the first floor there is a further bathroom with shower. The property is surrounded by sheltered verandas equipped with outdoor furniture where you can relax or enjoy a good meal. The swimming pool is located just in front of the house and benefits from sun beds and garden furniture. Just near the swimming pool there is a covered gazebo and the BBQ area.
This great family villa is just 4 km from the city centre of Castellammare del Golfo where you can find all the main services like : restaurants, post office, bank, coffee bars etc The sandy beach La Playa is 6.5 km from here. The old village of Scopello and the Natural Reserve Lo Zingaro are 14 km away from the house.
