The characteristic borgo of Alica dates from the time of the Etruscan and lies in the heart of Tuscany. The hamlet disposes of a geographical ideal position: 30 km from Pisa, Livorno and Volterra, 40 km from Lucca and S. Gimignano and 70 km from Siena. Five perfectly restored holiday homes are situated in the inner of an old mansion (built in the 15th century) and located in the village of Alica – one property lies 100 m away from this mansion. You have magnificent views onto the country side from all these apartments. A large garden which belongs to the property is confining with the nearby woods and is on three sides of the house. There is a swimming pool, set in earth (13,5 x 5,8 m, deep 120 – 240 cm) with dive board, tables and chairs, deckchairs, sun-umbrellas and external shower are at the guests’ complete disposal. Wonderful trips can be made – on foot or by bicycle to the nearby villages such as Lari with its antique walls and fortress, Vicopisano, Terriciola with its excellent red wines, Casciana Terme with its wellness centre and Palaia with its rock from which you have stunning views onto the area. Everywhere you will discover restaurants offering local dishes. Alica is set in an ideal spot: 1 km from tennis courts, 5 km from horseback riding, 12 km from the golf court 2 km from a private small airport. An “enoteca” lies close the mansion where you may taste local wines (the owners produce their own wine and olive oil).
Composition
This restored and attached holiday home (attached on one side) used to be a presbytery and originates from the 12th century, it is about 100 m away from the main house. Within an external staircase you may reach a terrace (36 sqm) which is equipped with a table and chairs, sun-umbrella and barbeque. The spacious living room is reached within a few other steps, there are a frescos on the walls, couch, SAT-TV, wonderful views onto the country side, spacious dining room with table, exito onto a small patio, kitchen with stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with shower, wc,bidet. 1st floor: 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, wc, bidet. Well cared furnishings in country style, some walls with a frescos and some beamed ceilings.
There is big garden on this property with century years old trees and many flowers, a gazebo and a pergola. External laundry room with washing machine, ironing board, iron, in common use and on payment. Parking within the grounds. There is also an “enoteca” – on request you may have breakfast or a typical Tuscan dinner. The owners live in one part of the main house.
