The photos shown do not do this villa justice. It was lovely with great views and we had a great time. The only minor let down was that I booked this as there were supposed to be restaurants within walking distance. The nearby hotel did not serve food for small parties and the other place was only open at weekends. This may however have been due to our trip being slightly out of season.
Our hosts did everything possible to make us welcome. |

Castellammare del Golfo ? |

We liked the town despite less favorable reports seen elsewhere. It was a genuine Sicilian town with good places to eat and a lovely small harbour. The only off putting thing was the drivers as it was anywhere other than the motorway. Getting to the area from Palermo was easy and you can walk from the villa to the town down a cliff path. There are no taxis however to take you back up and it is a steep drive. Some restaurants will provide a lift. |
