The workshop for session seven emulated session six, in that the group were encouraged to make spontaneous painterly marks, for example dots, curves and lines. This was followed by a period of 'free expression' whereby paint was applied using large brushes and straight from the paint bottles. In previous sessions the individuals worked on their own, in session seven, participants were encouraged to work in close physical proximity to each other, to see if they influenced or assisted each other in their painting. It was difficult to gauge how influential this was, as the artists seemed to pay little heed to each other's activities, remaining focussed on their own work.
