'Fun through Paint!'

Session seven saw the brushes and palettes of previous sessions dispensed with, in favour of hand application of paint onto spinning 'canvas'' via the 'Paint 'n' Swirl Art Machine' (a simple rotating motor, activated by an Ablenet 'Switch'). Individual paints were applied to the spinning canvas, the speed of the rotation controlled completely by the participant. Although the session continued the emphasis on 'fun through paint', the level of shared engagement was high, and the groupwork in particular was characterised by long periods of independent artmaking. The completed artworks, twelve in total, were viewed as a collection and compared.
