Andrew CHRISTIE

'In constructing my work I do not allegorise or superimpose false meaning, my paintings are made in an ephemeral moment and to label them 'being about this' or 'referring to that' is to place them incorrectly in a narrative context. I am enthused by exploiting the nature and potential of materials. I try to incorporate all the materials in the visual experience - the aluminium with its colour and reflective qualities, the warmth of paint and the surrounding light. This amalgamation results in the possibility for creating movement, vibration and view interaction.
