Career Opportunities

Although we do not currently have any teaching vacancies, Bloomsbury International, we welcome applications from both Certificate and Diploma qualified EFL teachers, preferably with at least one year’s teaching experience. Bloomsbury International is a young, independent British Council accredited school situated in the ideal location for student life in London; tranquil, leafy Bloomsbury. This is the heart of literary London and home to the British Museum but still just walking distance from the vibrant, fashionable West End, Covent Garden, Oxford Street shopping and London’s famous parks.

The school is a perfect mix of the old and the new, occupying a beautiful historic, Georgian building but with the latest 21st century comfort and technology, including high speed wireless internet access and over 70 modern computers for students use.

We are also an official TOEFL and TOIEC test centre, so students can benefit from our specialist knowledge of training and testing to help achieve their true potential.

Teachers, Students & Staff
All our courses are taught by a team of dedicated, enthusiastic teachers who all hold internationally recognized qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language and draw from a wide range of teaching experience both in the UK and overseas. You lessons have clear aims and cover all aspects of the language including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing & listening skills but with a strong focus on communication, allowing plenty of opportunity to improve spoken English and confidence rapidly. During the course, there are ongoing tutorials and counseling from our academic managers to make sure students are completely satisfied with the course and progressing as quickly as possible.

Fellow students may come from one of over 50 countries but there will only be a maximum of 14 in a class as we like to keep our groups small to give each student as much personal attention and opportunity to communicate as possible.

Our multi-lingual student services and management teams have many years experience managing various aspects of language training operations and have worked extensively with overseas students. If students require any assistance before, during or after their studies, we are always available to offer guidance and support wherever needed.

Facilities
Bloomsbury International’s facilities are so good they have been awarded points of excellence by the British Council and are among the best to be found in any UK language school and include:

• 17 bright, spacious, well-equipped classrooms
• 3 separate computer rooms with over 70 PCs for students’ to chat, e-mail and study
• A 70-seat theatre/cinema with a full multi-media suite where we show movies, hold seminars and even have karaoke parties
• A purpose built, 45 seat iBT TOEFL Test Centre
• Free wireless broadband throughout the building so students can use their laptops to access the internet anywhere from the café to the classroom
• A subsidized Café preparing fresh food daily and a delicious Cappuccino or Espresso for wake up call before lessons
• A self-access study centre & library with daily newspapers, books, tapes and video to help with your studies
• An in-house Travel Agency for travel needs
• Decked patio areas for students to relax and take a break
Accommodation
At Bloomsbury International we fully understand that apart from the choice of school, accommodation is perhaps the most important aspect in determining a student’s overall satisfaction of their study abroad experience. To ensure that our students have a wide range of accommodation choices to suit their requirements and budget, our Host Families, Flat Share, Student Residences & Hotels are all provided by partner agencies who are specialists in providing a high standard of accommodation inspected to British Council standards. Accommodation is conveniently located on the main transport links to the school, so students are never more than 30 minutes journey time from the school whether they choose from our Central or Outer options.

Social Programme
As Samuel Johnson, one of England’s greatest writers, once said, “If a man is bored of London, he is bored of life”! To help find out why, we have an interesting, exciting Social Programme that will help to get to know this wonderful city and all that it has to offer. There are daily in and out of school activities to suit all tastes, whether the preference is sport, culture or entertainment. During the week trips to the theatre, ten pin bowling or a night in a traditional pub or club are typical options. In school hours, students can participate in quizzes, international cuisine days, karaoke parties or just watch a film in our in-house cinema. At weekends, there are excursions to places of great interest such as Oxford, Cambridge, Stonehenge and Bath and even Paris or Amsterdam. We try to organize something for everyone!
