At Central School of English we understand
that your accommodation is a very important part of your
stay in London and we do our utmost to ensure that your
accommodation is of the highest standard and conforms to
the British Council standards. We offer a variety of options
depending on your taste and budget and all of our accommodation
is carefully chosen and inspected by trained staff.
Homestays
A great way to experience life in London
and an extra opportunity to improve your English! Carefully
chosen and regularly inspected, our homestays offer friendly
accommodation and a warm welcome
Standard homestays are located in pleasant residential areas
(zones 3 & 4) with good transport connections to the
school. Average travelling time to school: 40-50 minutes.
Superior homestays are more luxurious and are offered in
zone 2 (average travelling time to school: 30 - 40 minutes)
or zones 3 & 4 (average time to school: 40 - 50 minutes).
You will have a single room (twin is available only for
two people coming together)
You can choose breakfast only, halfboard (breakfast and
dinner every day) or the 5 dinner plan (breakfast every
day and dinner on 5 days per week).
A private bathroom is available on a limited basis on request
and there is a supplement of £20 per week (£25
per week for courses starting in 2007)
You will be the only person speaking your language in the
accommodation (unless you specifically request otherwise)
Student house
For those who prefer more independence and
would like to cook for themselves
An alternative to host families, this is usually in a family-type
house or apartment. Owner of the house may live on the premises
or not
Located in residential areas (usually zones 2 & 3).
Average 30 – 40 minutes travelling time to school
Self-catering – you cook for yourself
There are usually several other students in the house

Hotels
We can arrange your accommodation in one
of many excellent hotels within walking distance of the
school.
We have a special arrangement with a small
comfortable hotel near Bond St, about 20 minutes walk from
the school. All rooms (single or twin) are ensuite with
quality furnishings and have telephone, satellite tv, tea/coffee-making
facilities, and hairdryers. Special rates are available
for all Central School students from as little as £45
per night.
Self-catering studio apartments
Centrally-located self-catering studio
apartments are available on a limited basis. Situated about
10 minutes walk from the school, these are comfortably furnished
with self-contained kitchenette, air-conditioning and ensuite
facilities. Prices start from £400 per week for a
single room studio.

the school
Central
School of English was established in 1968 and over the last
35 years we have built a reputation for providing high quality
English language courses in the centre of London. Every
year we welcome more than 1,500 students from over 40 different
countries, including Italy, France, Japan, Russia, Spain,
Germany, Poland, and Korea
In January 1999 we became a member of the
OISE group of schools, an international network of schools
renowned for its commitment to quality language training.
We have a great range of English Language
courses to suit all ages (from 16) and interests. Whether
you want to learn English for personal or professional purposes
we have a course that's right for you. Lessons are held
in dynamic classes with a maximum of 12 students per group.
Individual tuition is also offered to supplement group courses.
And more, starting in 2005, all students will receive free
extra Fluency Practice Workshops and Guided Self Study to
add even more value to your course.
Excellent teaching
Our teaching staff are crucial to your success and have
been recruited not only for their qualifications and experience
but also for their enthusiasm, commitment and dedication.
All teachers are trained in the Central School style which
means there are clear aims for each lesson and the focus
is on developing key language skills and learning strategies.
Flexibility
You can begin your course on any Monday and study for as
long as you wish, from one week to one year. You decide
