Twin Towers English College
53 – 55 Ballards Lane
London N3 1XP

London general Information

London is famous for many things, one of them being its changeable weather.
It can go from bright warm sunshine to cold heavy rain in a matter of hours.
Therefore, we suggest that a jumper, waterproof jacket and folding umbrella are essential items. It is also a good idea to have comfortable shoes as there are so many places to go and see.

Summer – June to August:
Average temperature range from 21 to 28 degrees Celsius but it can vary a great deal and we recommend that you bring sweaters and a light jacket as well as the usual t-shirts and other summer clothing.

Spring and Autumn – March to mid June and September to early November:
Average temperature range from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius, but it can vary a great deal and we recommend that you bring sweaters and a reasonably warm jacket.

Winter – mid November to mid March:
Average temperatures range from 0 to 12 degrees Celsius and we recommend that you bring sweaters and a warm coat and a scarf.

Phone-cards

You can buy an international phone-card from many shops near the college.
You can use the card on any phone, in public, or at your host family´s house.
They are cheaper than using the national phone system.

Post

There is a local post office and stamps can also be bought at newsagents, supermarkets and some other shops.

Maps of London
We advise students to buy a copy of one of the London Street Guides such as ´A-Z´.

About the school

Twin Towers College offers high standards of teaching, and is located in the pleasant residential area of Finchley in North London. The college is on the main High Street, surrounded by many shops, restaurants, cafes and transport connections (two minutes walk to both the underground and buses).

Established in 1990, in a historical Art Deco building, the school is in a safe area which is ideal for studying; yet it is only 20 minutes from the city centre. It gives students the best of both worlds.

Our college has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, enabling the students to learn in an environment that contributes in a positive way to language development. Combining this with the high standards of teaching that CET has already established, the college offers students the opportunity to progress at a pace that makes learning worthwhile and enjoyable. The students feel at ease, whilst making real progress in all areas.
We provide high-quality education – with personal attention – at very competitive prices; comfortable facilities, and a secure environment that make learning a pleasure. Our experience and expertise in international education enables us to offer a basis for a successful future to students from all over the world.

Our courses adopt a comprehensive method of teaching English that develops vocabulary and grammar along with speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

The college learning programmes are geared towards the University of Cambridge examination board. We are a Cambridge Examination centre, and have a high pass rate.

The college uses the latest teaching materials and stresses the importance of the teacher-student relationship.

Our teachers are carefully selected, and all are qualified, with a wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience.

Studies are aided by the use of DVDs, magazines, computers, audiocassettes, CDs etc.

For those with very limited time at their disposal, or very specific language learning needs, one-to-one tuition can offer a particularly effective solution. Such courses are designed entirely with the individual student in mind and can cover general and business English, or highly specialised and specific areas of language and vocabulary.
It is always possible to add one-to-one tuition to any group course.
This offers professionals the chance to study the language skills relevant to their own area of expertise.
