Living
two hours' away by train in the favela Francisco Morato, Elenildo is
part of a growing number of commuters, who travel daily to and from
central Sao Paulo. Everyday the trains are so packed that, in order
to find a seat, he travels first in the opposite direction to the nearest
terminal, where the train empties, and then he goes back towards his
final destination. All in all, Elenildo spends more than four hours
travelling everyday.
