Trastevere's area is the most typical of Rome. The historical center of the city has been deserted for several centurys because of a water disease, creating by there a migration toward this part of the city, close to the tevere.
The narrow streets, the small places or piazzette, the funny and happy atmosphere, the quantity of restaurants and bars make of Trastevere a nice place to live in by day as by night. The real historical center is close to trastevere on foot or by bus or tramway.
Above trastevere we find the Gianicolo, a small hill from wich we can admire one of the most beautiful panorama of the town.
An excellent choice to live Rome in a funny way, and certainly in the most romantic one as Rome's legend has been built on.
Parking is still a problem in trastevere, the few places we can find are expensive. Better avoid having one.
